Founded
on March 4th 2000, by Barbara Franzin, Melanie
Chisholm Brasil was an Yahoo Club that provided daily news,
rare pictures and debates among fans as a virtual fan-club, sending
all material to the email addresses of the members of the club.
On July 2nd 2000, Barbara appoints Luísa Damulakis as vice-president
of the club and the partnership worked so well that the website
Melanie C Gallery was launched hosted on HPG, with pictures available
for everybody (not only for members of the club).
On October 25th 2002, website Portal Melanie C starts being developed
by Luísa, aimed to be an extension of the club.

| Portal
Melanie C is launched on January 29th 2003, founded by Luísa
Damulakis, hosted on kit.net with Barbara’s help with the
design.
Due to changes on free host services of kit.net, Portal Melanie
C is forced to buy the domain www.portalmelaniec.com and go to paid
hosting. Barbara leaves the staff due to lack of time and Juliana
and Anna Albuquerque join helping with translations and creating
a forum for the websites Portal Melanie C and Reason Melanie C.
At that time, the site was already a success for its photo gallery,
with more than 6,000 photos online. In August 2004, Portal's staff
takes in some members of Melanie C Brasil website to create a new
version for 2005. Juliana also leaves due to lack of time and John
Teles, Fernanda Prvedello and Danilo Canguçu get in to help
Luísa in the site’s new phase.
On March 20th 2005, after almost two months on temporary version,
the new Portal Melanie C is launched also on the domain www.melaniec.com.br,
much more worked up in terms of design, programming, content, and
bringing 10,000 pictures on the gallery.
In February 2006 it goes again into temporary version, after the
site’s monthly traffic exceeded due to the high number of
visits in January.
After almost 7 months on temporary version, the new Portal Melanie
C is launched on July 27th with sections entirely reorganized by
Luísa and with the proposal of offering exclusive video content.
Unfortunately, the new version didn’t bring the gallery back,
which was on a free temporary server without having updates for
a few months.
In September 2006, Portal takes in a new staff member, Anna Marina,
who contributes with many new projects for Portal apart from helping
with the translation and the news.
On January 12th 2007, Portal debuts its sections finally translated
to English, thanks to Anna Marina’s work.
Receiving the hosting proposal from the visitor Marcelo, Luísa
decides to transfer the entire website to a new server, what allowed
the return of the gallery on February 2007, this time with 30.000
pics online. The gallery was a result of an intense work by Luísa
in only 2 months, with the help of Anna Marina.
March of the same year was the time for the big archive of translated
articles to receive a special treatment: using a PHP pages admin,
the Articles sections debuts, totally reformulated and dynamic,
bringing innumerous texts published about Mel in newspapers, magazines
and websites in two languages: Portuguese and English.
