01. Who is she?
Geraldine Estelle Halliwell was born on August 6th 1972, in Watford, Hertfordshire, England. Daughter of Ana Maria (Spanish) and Laurence Halliwell, Geri went through a long path until stardom.
After a confused childhood, without much money and her mother being a Jehovah Witness, what made Geri sad cause they don’t celebrate birthdays and Christmas, she also had to go through a breast cancer suspicion and her father’s death, in 1993.
Geri spent her teen years working in innumerous jobs: she was an aerobics instructor, waitress, dancer of a club in Mallorca, Spain, presenter of a game show on Turkish TV and did some nude modeling.
In 1994 Geri decided to participate on the auditions announced on the newspaper The Stage for the formation of a girl band.

02. Geri meeting Melanie C:
Geri and Victoria already knew each other from the auditions for the production Tank Girl. About meeting Melanie at the auditions for the girl band, she says: "We had to sing Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder. That was the first time I saw Melanie C and I thought she was really good. She reminded me of Elvis! Mel C had a dancer's air about the way she walked and held her shoulders like a gymnast about to perform a floor routine. She had a great voice, but was camera shy and introverted; she hated even talking on the telephone." Melanie tells: "Geri walked in and I thought she was a complete nutter, but I really liked her. We all sang Signed, Sealed, Delivered one at a time. Because I'd just got over tonsillitis, I was singing a bit throatily, which is why Geri thought I sounded like Elvis."

03. The house in Maidenhead:

Geri was the only Spice Girl to have a bedroom of her own at the Maidenhead home the Spice Girls lived in before fame.

04.Why Ginger?
The red hair Geri had during the Spice Girls ended up being the reason behind her nickname Ginger Spice, given by Top Of The Pops magazine.

05. Melanie’s company at the gym and for charity works:
Melanie and Geri used to frequent the gym together. It was during a training session that both of them agreed that “Spice” would be a great name for the group.
They also went out even before fame to help homeless people.

06. "We are family".
Geri is the mother of little Bluebell Madonna Halliwell, born in 2006, daughter of script-writer Sasha Gervasi.
