The Melanie C Fans' Charity Network - Acoustic gig for Marie Curie Cancer Care:
-Website: www.mariecurie.org.uk
On November 28th 2005, the fans Bex, Charlotte and Claire arranged an acoustic gig with Melanie in London to raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care institution. They took care of everything: they contacted a professional photographer to take photos of the event, not allowing the fans to take cameras, so the flashes wouldn’t distract Mel and no one would worry about taking good photos. As the event aimed to raise money for a cancer care institution, an area for smokers was established outside the venue, so smoking was forbidden in the crowd. Only fans older than 18 years old could attend as alcoholic drinks were being served during the gig. Besides the acoustic gig, the t-shirt worn by Melanie at the booklet of the Beautiful Intentions album was auctioned on eBay and the money was donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
