From ZeeNews.com and The Sun:

After announcing their reunion tour, the Spice Girls are now planning a TV show filmed in eight countries at once.

The vivacious five, who announced their reunion by confirming an 11-city tour, plan to sing before a celeb audience, just like in ITV’s An Audience With. . . series, throughout their comeback.

The celebs will be present in eight cities from New York to Sydney, and will shoot questions at the all-girl band.

The ITV show will be shot in one of the 11 cities lined up for the band’s comeback tour.

The star-studded audience may include Elton John and Robbie Williams in London, and P Diddy and Mariah Carey in the US.

“There is huge demand for them across the world so it makes sense to do something with a global feel,” The Sun quoted a source, as saying.

MELANIE ANSWERS ON THE OFFICIAL FORUM
Posted on 29/06/2007 by Luisa Damulakis

After a bad reception for the Spice Girls' reunion by some members of the official forum, Melanie decided to answers three topics.

In the first one, she talks about what was said in the press, that she accepted the reunion for money and she is not being true about the Spice Girls:

"DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ!!!! You should know that by now! I mean every word I say, as I always have. Everything I do I will give 100%. Money is NOT my motivation."

In the other topic, she left a message for the fans who are supporting her:

"Thank you, as I'm sure you can imagine everything is crazy at the moment. This Time and my solo work is and will continue to be my priority. I love the girls and we truly mean when we say we want to have fun and say a proper goodbye and thankyou to our fans worldwide. It's a Spice vacation then right back to Melanie C world!! x x"

And then, in a topic with a supposed picture taken of a guy from the Spice Girls' crew holding the "script" of the press conference (with answers previously written for the girls), she said:

"WOW!! I never saw that. How f**king patronising!!"

The girls are planning a documentary for December, directed by Bob Smeaton, who filming the Beatles Anthology. Geri Halliwell said:

The Greatest Hits:
EMI plans to release the first Spice Girls greatest hits album in November.

Melanie's decision:
When questioned why she decided to take part of the reunion, Melanie C answered: “A girl’s allowed to change her mind. [The reunion is] something we’ve only been seriously discussing this year. The time is right. We want to have some fun and wanted to keep this announcement mysterious. We’re all very excited.”

The Computer Power:
Mel C has also denied the rumour from Daily Mail that the girls would use a computer system to correct their live voices on stage. She said to a Daily Mail's reporter: "Your story yesterday? What a load of s**t!"

Diana's Concert:
Princes William and Harry were said to have asked them to attend the anniversary event but the band said they could not take to the stage so soon because Emma Bunton is heavily pregnant.
Melanie C said: "We would have loved to be there this weekend. It's just unfortunate timing."

COMPUTER POWER FOR THE SPICE GIRLS
Posted on 27/06/2007 by Luisa Damulakis
Spice Girls icon

From Daily Mail:

When The Spice Girls announce their reunion tour, there is a intriguing secret they will no doubt be keen to keep from fans.

They won't be belting out their songs just by Girl Power... but with the help of Computer Power.

For while the showbusiness world eagerly awaits their return, aides closer to them have been less enthusiastic about their vocal abilities.

So Ginger, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Posh are going into the studio to pre-record the songs for their tour - in order to mask the failings of their own live voices.

On stage, they will employ a new hi-tech system which will present those digitally-enhanced recordings as their own voices.

It works by taking the singer's live voice on stage and electronically comparing it to the perfect vocal sounds that have already been recorded in the studio.

When the girls sing out of tune on stage, the mistakes in their voices are instantaneously corrected - in less than a tenth of a second - by computer to perfect the pitch and tone. And it is this remastered "virtual voice" which belts out across the arena. The girls' vocals are altered so quickly that it will appear the resulting perfect voices are live and their own.

The system is not miming as such, because they are not just mouthing music to a backing track.

But the voices of Ginger (Geri Halliwell), Scary (Melanie Brown), Sporty (Melanie Chisholm), Baby (Emma Bunton) and Posh (Victoria Beckham) are actually changed to make them better.

"As they sing, the computer program corrects the mistakes so that the sound comes out as the desired sound - so they appear to be able to sing really well live," said an industry source. The system is being seen as a godsend for Posh - who is known for her particularly weak singing voice.

There have even been suggestions that while they are short or rehearsal time, the girls will use the computer enhancement to make sure they can perform as soon as next Sunday at the Concert for Diana at Wembley.

A Spice Girls spokesman was adamant that detailed touring logistics which would cover the use of live vocal enhancement had not yet been discussed, adding: "They all have great singing voices."

SOLOS IN THE SPICE GIRLS' SHOWS
Posted on 26/06/2007 by Luisa Damulakis
Spice Girls icon

From Daily Snack.com:

The Spice Girls are to unveil a secret plan behind their reunion which will be announced this week.

Fans will not be getting just the band’s old favourites on the whirlwind world tour.

Victoria, 33, Emma, 31, Geri, 34, Mel C, 33, and Mel B, 32, will each perform one of their solo hits.

The fivesome are holding a press conference this Thursday to confirm the return.

It will involve gigs in the UK as well as across the globe in places like the Far East.

The gigs will feature all of the Spice hits including Wannabe, 2 Become 1 and Viva Forever.

But we can reveal they will each have a solo spot.

A Spice source said: "The girls obviously want to play all the Spice hits but they also want to pay homage to their own solo careers too."

"Mel C is the one who suggested they each do one of their solo tracks and the other girls are happy with the idea. She’s thinking of doing Never Be The Same Again. Geri wants to go with Look At Me. The others are still deciding."

The source continued: "They’re all really getting into the momentum of it now and getting really excited.

"But they feel the fans would like to hear some of their solo stuff because a lot of former Spice fans have supported their solo careers." The source added: "It’s not been decided yet whether they’ll have time in the show to do the full solo numbers – they may do a solo medley where each sings a part of one of their solo hits."

And the girls will also film a television special about their return to the pop scene.

The source said: "It will be a ratings smash … and no doubt do better than Posh’s LA show!"

This week we had even more rumours about the Spice Girls' comeback so, inspired by all that reunion thing we decided "to reunite" the rumours in just one news! Here we go:

1) Rules by Simon Fuller...!
The Sun published a list of 9 rules supposedly written by Simon Fuller for the band to follow. The girls must not to talk about money that they will earn from the reunion, not to confirm or deny the rumours and not get pregnant! Check the full list HERE.

2) World Tour announced by Melanie C?
According to readers of a Norweigian newspaper called VG, Melanie confirmed the plans for a Spice Girls world tour: "All the girls are positive to a world tour. There will be no new album, just a world tour to thank all the fans and to give a proper farewell. It would be very fun to work with the girls again for some months and travel. We'll see what happens, nothing's decided yet."

3) Announcement today on Friday Night Project?
The Sun (again...) also published that the Spice Girls' comeback will be announced by Melanie C today in the Friday Night Project. Check HERE.

4) Announcement tomorrow...
It was published today on the Mirror that the tour will have 25 dates and each of the girls will earn £10million. The plans will be announced tomorrow at the former Millenium Dome in Greenwich, London - now known as the O2 Dome. Full article HERE.

5) Announcement next Thursday...

And that's what was published today in the London's free paper London Lite:

Kaisers ban Mel C from their stage...
Mel C reckons the Kaiser Chiefs were the ones who convinced her to join the Spice Girls reunion, so you'd think they'd give her a decent place to watch them last night. All poor Mel wanted was to watch them from the side of the stage. But, for some reason, the grumpy Leeds rockers banned everyone from watching them from the sides - even their supposed pal Mel C. Mel told the Eye she was looking forward to rejoining the Spice Girls, but said anything would just be a one-off.

From Teletext:

Ex-Spice Girl Mel C could be heading for a cameo appearance in Coronation Street, Teletext has learnt.

A source close to the soap said: "Mel has made it known to us that she'd be up for a cameo - maybe in a Christmas episode. But it's very early days and nothing is set in concrete."

"We're thinking of ways of making this possible - after all, Status Quo worked out brilliantly."

The British band Status Quo made a guest appearance on Coronation Street last year.

MEL C GIVES SPICE GIRLS GO-AHEAD
Posted on 15/06/2007 by Luisa Damulakis
Spice Girls icon

From BBC.co.uk:

Listen to Melanie's interview HERE.

Singer Melanie C has given the green light for a reunion of the Spice Girls.

"For the first time ever, there is some truth in the rumours... it could happen," she told BBC London 94.9.

But the singer, also known as Sporty Spice, said it would just be for "a very short space of time... a final goodbye" and a thank you to fans.
It is thought ex-bandmates Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel B and Geri Halliwell had already agreed to reunite but Melanie C had resisted until now.

The singer, whose real name is Melanie Chisholm, said she admired Take That, who have enjoyed renewed success since they got back together last year.

But she added, "it would be really dangerous to think you could just follow in their footsteps because I think that's unique, what has happened to Take That".

She added that she had always said she didn't want to get the band back together because "it was amazing, it was magical. We could never recreate it".

"But this year people have been talking about it and some of the girls have expressed an interest in doing it."

"I don't want to be the person that stops it happening or stops it being a five-piece," she told the radio station."

Solo careers

It is rumoured the band are planning six live shows around the world with gigs in London, Tokyo and Las Vegas, to support their Greatest Hits album which comes out later this year.

They are likely to begin rehearsing for the shows after Bunton gives birth to her first baby later this summer.

The Spice Girls were one of the most successful pop acts in British history, with a string of number ones starting with 1996's Wannabe.

Geri Halliwell was the first to leave the band in 1998, walking out while the group were on a European tour.

The Spice Girls released another album but finally split in 2000, with the participants all going on to solo careers with varying degrees of success.
