So we've spent another great year with you, the first one
with the English version of the site! We would like to thank
each and every one of you for visiting us, helping us to
improve every single day! Melanie is probably having a good
time today with her family and friends, so we wish her and
every single one of our visitors a wonderful 2008,
with lots of peace, health and happiness!

Melanie C: "I remember as a teenager, babysitting my little
brother on Christmas Eve, getting settled into our bunk beds
and reading Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer to him. I don't
know whether he got any sleep but I certainly didn't!"
The Stage's new advert:
The
Stage, the newspaper that features job opportunities for
artists, in which the Spice Girls found out about the
auditions to form the group, is now using the girls for an
advert, check below:
Melanie in the In Touch Magazine:
Melanie featured in the US magazine In Touch with two small
pictures, one about the fringe sensation between celebs and
another about her favourite fruit:
"Mel C drinks pomegranate smoothies before the Spice Girls
perfom. The antioxidant-rich fruit is thought to help the

The German concert:
Melanie arrived in Cologne, Germany, a day before the rest
of the Spice Girls, with her manager Nancy Phillips.
She performed I Turn To You and not First Day Of My Life
and at the beginning of Stop they had a little
technical problem, when one of the screens didn't move up
(watch it HERE).

Avril Lavigne cuts gig short for Spice Girls:

"Avril Lavigne performed just two songs at a gig in Canada
before leaving to watch the Spice Girls, according to US
reports.
The singer arrived an hour late for a free gig in Burnaby,
British Columbia, and cut her set short so that she could
catch the band's show in nearby Vancouver.
She also reportedly further irritated fans by failing to
apologise after leaving them waiting in the "freezing, snowy"
weather at the outdoor concert.
Hannah Bryla, 14, told Star magazine: 'It’s so unfair!
It seems like her fans aren’t important to her'"

New Manchester
date:
The Spice Girls added another Manchester date on
January 26th at MEN arena. Tickets will go on sale on December
20th.

Mama with the Spice Girls' children:

Sharon Osbourne wants Spice at Brits:
The host of Brit Awards 2008 declaired that she wants the
Spice Girls to perform on the event, watch HERE.
The award show will take place in February.
Sugababes boycott the Spice Girls:
According to website NME,
the Sugababes gave up on going to the Spice Girls
concerts after finding out they had been miming. Amelle
Berrabah, a member of Sugababes, supposedly said: "My and
the girls were going to get some tickets, but I’ve
decided not to go now because I’ve heard about them
miming."
Stricly Come Dancing postponed:
BBC's
website published today a press release informing that
the Spice Girls' appearance on the show Stricly Come
Dancing have been postponed. Originally scheduled
to appear on the semi-finals, recording next Saturday for
the transmission on Sunday the 16th, the girls cancelled
it due to Emma's injury. Emma Bunton tripped on the stairs
during the last US concert and sprained her ankle. Because
of that, the girls' appearance have been rescheduled
and they'll perform 2 Become 1 on December 22nd, the show's
finals.

York, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia and Washington DC."
As their first appointment in the UK, the Spice Girls launched
a new competition on the official site. This time, a few fans

Home launch event for the girls, tomorrow afternoon.

Press conference this week:
According to Reuters,
the Spice Girls will held a press conference next wednesday,
12th of December, at Los Angeles Internacional Airport.
On the occasion, they will reveal the name of the Virgin
Atlantic jet in honour of the Spice Girls. The
name was chosen by a poll in the group's official site.
Documentary on English TV:
On Wednesday, the channel Five will broadcast a new documentary
about the Spice Girls, called The Spice Girls On Trial.
The show is an analysis on the group's contribution to pop
culture and the impact of their music and personalities
in the world, feauturing interviews with several people.
Updates on the official site:
On the news section of the official
site, you can watch a longer footage than the one broadcasted
by the media, of the press conference and clips from the
first concert, in Vancouver. The site also revealed a few
more celebrities that attended the Los Angeles concert,
on the December 7th: two members of the Pussycat Dolls,
actress Kate Beckinsale and the governor of California,
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who even went backstage to wish the
girls good luck before the show. Mel's solo gig at The Mint
also got a mention, that "she wowed the crowd with a string
of her solo hits". And finally, a new section was opened,
inside Spice Facts, called Tour Costumes. There you can
find all the info about the Spice Girls' costumes for
the tour and explanations from Roberto Cavalli himself about
his creations.

PEREZ ABOUT MEL'S GIG
|
After attending Mel's acoustic gig last night, Perez Hilton
didn't hesitate to write a few compliments about Melanie
on his site,
as usual:
"Thursday night, we had the pleasure of going to Melanie
C's acoustic show at The Mint in Los Angeles. And, the Spice
Girl known as Sport was kind enough to invite Perezzz to
her sound check.
We met Melanie (for the first time) and she was a delight!
She was the last Spice Girl to want to jump on board the
reunion bandwagon, but she told us that she is having a
blast.
And we love the fact that she performed to almost
20,000 at the Staples Center on Wednesday and the following
evening she performed to less than 200.
She’s doing it for all the right reasons. Melanie
C. loves music and is in this game for the long haul.
We can’t express how much we love her solo stuff.
It is smart, sophisticated, beautiful, touching, brilliant

Sorry for my absence of late, been a tad busy with my old
mates the Spice Girls! The tour is going great - we're all
enjoying it so much.
We're back in LA now and, as you probably already know,
being crazy fools, me, Greg, Paul and Nick have decided
to do a little acoustic set on our day off tonight. We're
going to be playing at a lovely little club called The Mint.
I can't wait, it's going to be loads of fun and maybe I'll

Something
really sad has been happening since Sunday (02.12.2007), when
we were informed that other site was using our layout without
credits. We've contacted the webmaster and he said in the
first e-mail that it's only an inspiration, but as you all
can see, it's far from inspiration. We have been waiting until
now and he didn't reply to us again nor put at least
the credits. It's really unfair for all the people in our
staff who work hard to maintain our layout and especially
for Fernanda Prevedello from Viva
Spice Girls, who designed it for us last year. You can

We hope at least to have our credits, as we try to always
credit people here and we're open to put credits for people

New date for the US:
Apparently, the city of Detroit has been added to the Spice
Girls' tour. The site of The Palace of Auburn Hills, the
venue of the concert, listed the event for february 16th,
check HERE.
This way, the second Chicago date, set for that same day,
would have to be cancelled. However, nothing has been confirmed
by the girls' official
site until now.
The Band for the tour:
According to the tour programme, the girls' band really
is Mel's full band: Vinnie Lammi on drums, Nick Nasmyth
on keyboards, Scott Firth on bass, Greg Hatwell and Paul
Gendler on guitars. Apart from the boys, Simon Ellis is
the Music Director and plays other instruments.
Spice Girls deny lip-synching:

"The Spice Girls have denied reports they lip-synched their
way through the opening night of their world tour in Vancouver,
Canada, on Sunday (02Dec07), insisting it was all live.
The reformed five-piece wowed the sold-out crowd of 16,000
with hit after hit, but were accused by some critics of
actually miming to a backing track. However, a spokesperson
for the group has dismissed the criticisms, saying, 'All
of the girls sang live. There is a click track for the band
to keep them in time, which is standard, but all of the
girls' vocals were live.'"
